Are you making these common flying mistakes when you travel? Keep reading to find out!

Not Reserving Your Seat Ahead of Time

There’s nothing worse than getting stuck in the back of the plane with no legroom and passengers hovering over you as they wait in line for the bathroom. Do yourself a favor and make sure you book your seat at the same time you book your plane ticket!

Not Dressing Accordingly

If you plan on going from a cold destination to a warm destination, be sure to dress accordingly! Consider some easy options such as layering for transitioning from winter to a warm-weather destination. You won’t need your winter coat and boots on the beach. Leave those in your car so you can easily put them on for the ride home!

Not Being Prepared for Lost Luggage

Should your luggage ever get lost *knock on wood*, you’ll want to make sure you have some backup clothing items in your carry-on luggage. I typically pack 1-2 days of clothes in my carry on bag. You might also want to put his and her clothes in both suitcases, should one disappear in transit.

Not Packing a Swimsuit in Your Carry-on Bag

If your room isn’t ready once you arrive at the hotel, you still have access to the entire resort! And yes, this means restaurants, the pool, swim-up bar, etc. Be sure to pack your swim attire in your carry-on so it’s readily available (and you don’t waste any precious vacation time!).

Not Getting Enough Sleep

Again, if your room is not ready, you could be awake for a long time. The last thing you want to feel is groggy and exhausted the moment you arrive at your vacation spot. Be sure to rest up so you’re energized and ready for some fun in the sun!
