It’s important to stay connected throughout your travels –but lugging your electronics along can be tricky! Here are some tips for keeping them safe and accessible:

Pack Wisely

To avoid security chaos, be sure to take your electronics out ahead of time so you’re not holding up the line. Airport security sometimes requires larger electronics like laptops to be taken out of your bags because they’re denser and don’t always receive the best readings from the X-ray operators. Be sure to pack wisely and have them readily available to ensure a smooth airport experience. Trust us, the airport security staff will thank you for being prepared!

Chargers & Converters

In case of a travel emergency, we recommend bringing a phone charger along with you at the very least. For any other electronics, don’t forget their chargers too –the last thing you want is a 5-hour layover with nothing to do! Traveling overseas? Do your research before you take off for the appropriate converters needed, as U.S. plugs will not work in other countries.

Electronic Accessories

Planning a snorkeling or diving excursion? Then, you might want to bring an underwater camera or GoPro to capture your experience! Tired of asking strangers to take your pictures on vacation? Then, a tripod can be a life-saver! What about the downtime you’ll have waiting for transportation? Then, a hotspot connection can certainly come in handy! Be sure to consider all the scenarios you could run into during your travels, so you’re always prepared.

Use Airplane Mode

A big mistake people make when they’re traveling overseas, is to not turn off their cellular data, which can wind up costing them a fortune! That’s where airplane mode comes in. Since most cellphone companies charge roaming fees internationally, it’s important to remember to turn your phone on airplane mode to prevent those charges from happening. This pauses your cellular data temporarily, while still enabling you to connect to Wi-Fi when it’s available.

Store Safely

Always be mindful of where you store your electronics when they aren’t in use! It’s recommended to pack your valuables such as jewelry, money, and electronics in your carry-on or purse so it’s never out of your sight. It’s also a good idea to store your electronics in their cases so they’re protected during transport and don’t get scratched or damaged! If you’re leaving electronics in your room unattended, be sure to lock them in the digital safe in your room.
